Terms of Service

Last updated: September 28, 2026

Who we are

My Recipe Closet, reachable at support@myrecipecloset.com. These terms are the agreement between you and us. By creating an account or using the app you accept them.

Your account

You must be at least 13 to use My Recipe Closet. Give us an email address you control and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at support@myrecipecloset.com if you think someone else has access to it.

What the app does

My Recipe Closet saves recipes from links, screenshots and files you give it, and turns them into cookbooks, shopping lists, meal plans, pantry records and cooking logs. You can share a household with other people and create share links for individual recipes.

Free trial and subscription

New accounts get 14 days free with every feature unlocked. After that the price is $19.99 per year. The subscription renews automatically each year until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time: a web subscription from Manage subscription on the Account page, an iPhone or iPad subscription in your Apple account's subscription settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the period you already paid for ends.

How you pay

On the web, Paddle is the merchant of record. Your contract for the purchase is with Paddle, they process the payment and they hold your billing information. On iPhone and iPad, Apple processes the purchase through your App Store account under Apple's terms. We never see or store your card details.

Refunds

Refunds for a purchase made on the web are handled by Paddle under their buyer terms, so contact them or write to us and we will raise it with them. Refunds for a purchase made on iPhone or iPad are handled by Apple directly, and we cannot issue them. None of this affects rights you have by law, including the withdrawal rights consumers have in the UK and the EU.

Your recipes are yours

You own everything you save. You give us permission to store it, process it and show it back to you, to the household you share it with, and to anyone you send a share link to. That permission exists so the app can work, and it ends when you delete the content or your account. We do not claim ownership of your recipes and we do not sell them.

What you submit for AI extraction

When you paste a link or upload a screenshot, you are telling us you have the right to do that. Do not submit content you are not allowed to copy. Extraction is limited to 100 imports per account per day.

The AI gets things wrong

Ingredients, quantities, steps, cooking times, calorie counts and nutrition figures are produced by an automated system reading a source we did not write. Treat every one of them as a draft and check it against the original before you cook, shop or eat. This is especially important if you have a food allergy. Nothing in the app is nutrition, dietary or medical advice.

Households and share links

Anyone you add to a household can see the recipes, lists and plans shared with it, and household members can edit shared content depending on the role you give them. A share link is an unlisted URL. Anyone who has the link can open the recipe unless you set a password on it. Be deliberate about who you send links to.

What you agree not to do

Do not break the law with the app, upload someone else's content you have no right to, try to get into other people's accounts or our systems, scrape or resell the service, or use it in a way that degrades it for other people.

Availability

We aim to keep the app running and your data safe, and we do not promise it will be available without interruption. Features can change, and we may add, alter or remove them. If we make a change that materially reduces what a paid subscription gives you, we will tell you.

Ending your access

You can delete your account at any time from the Account page, which removes your recipes, lists, plans and uploaded images permanently. A shopping list you shared with a household someone else created passes to that household's creator instead. Deleting your account ends a web subscription immediately. We do not refund the unused part of the period, except as described under Refunds or where the law requires it. An iPhone or iPad subscription keeps renewing until you cancel it in your Apple account's subscription settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we close your account and you have not broken these terms, we will refund the unused part of your subscription.

Limits on our liability

The app is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We will update the date at the top of this page when these terms change. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use My Recipe Closet after that means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Indiana. This does not take away any protection you have under the consumer law of the country you live in.
